If there are any other ideas you saw during the training that you would like more information or clarification about, please just let me know, and I will post a response here. I'd also love, love, to see pictures of kids in your centers exploring them! My hope is that you begin to see your classroom in a new light-- as an exciting "experience space" waiting to be explored.
Play on my friends!

Hi again... This session was a real challenge for me because I could talk about cool classroom activities for days. "So much time, so little to do! Wait...Strike that; reverse it." --Willy Wonka
I've posted an example photo of my "Smelling Center". However you can read more about this online https://theinspiredspeechmama.com/diy-olfactory-smell-jars.

"Hop & Say" Literacy Game: Line out flash cards based on colors, images, letters, numbers, or phonics, and don't be afraid to mix them up. Place a strip of bubble wrap next to the cards to give the kids a fun place to jump NOT on the cards (If you jump of my cards, it's a trip to the back of the line). Form to teams on each side, and have the children jump towards each other using a full sentence each time they jump. "It's an apple" or "I like/don't like apples". When the two players meet in the middle, they must play ROCK PAPER SCISSORS (1X) to see who will be allowed to pass. The loser goes to the back of the line and might get another turn. The first team to get all its players across-- takes the game, but we ALL win!
